So my car died quite suddenly as I was driving today. Just sputtered then stalled. Checked for spark and got nothing at the coil. Unplugged the DME and reinstalled, still no start.

I'm thinking either the DME suicided or the crank angle sensor gave up the ghost. What thinks you, chaps?

I don't have any access to another M40 to rob parts from, but I do have a friend with an M42 parts car. My long term plan is to get the M42 from him and swap it into my car, but short term if I could use the crank sensor or the DME from the M42 into my car to get it running it would be very much worth it.

Testing the crank sensor would be the best bet, sounds like it could be that.

Nope, it was the timing belt. Currently have an M42 completely torn down, waiting on more parts before I swap it in. 8)
