E30 Zone

I am using an e39 engine with an e46 gearbox and clutch, will my e39 starter motor fit this set up, I ask because I looked up a new one for the e46 gearbox and it states it also fits e39. My e39 starter motor is from an auto if that makes a difference.

General rule of thumb is you match the starter to the flywheel you are using. Some cars changed teeth numbers during the production run so keep dates in mind. You can also check part numbers and dates on realoem.

My gearbox is e46 so I am looking at e46 clutch and flywheel as a matching set, when I look at starter motors for the e46 it does state it fits e39 so I think I am good?
