water temp gauge and fan help pls

Hi guys
I'm converting a 318is to a m50b25 vanos engine.
There were a couple of wires missing from the loom comparing to the wiring list on another thread but the car starts and seems to run fine.
I read on the wiki that an e30 sensor needs to be plugged in - does anyone have a part number (cant remember if its on the wiki at this time) and is it a blue/brown/grey etc sensor.
Also, the wiki says keep the e36 sensor in for the ecu - so how do I wire up the e30 one, and where do I install it.
With regards to the fan - does anyone have a simpler diagram, i.e. wire from fuse box 18 goes to....... etc
