Piggy back fuel management

Anyone using an aftermarket piggyback system to control fueling and timing on an M52.
I got my car dynoed recently and it made good numbers but ran very rich after 3500rpm. After some reading it seems this is due to going open looped due to the lambdas not being wideband.
This got me thinking about aftermarket management and wide band to control fueling.
Just curious if anyone else has used a piggyback and what they used. I think it's easier to keep the OEM ecu DME controlling the Vanos.
Cheers RB
