Oil filter housing oil passages

Does anyone have an idea of how the oil flows through a filter housing? I have a s50 oil filter housing on my m52 and am trying to work out how I am going to install my oil temp sensor so I can use my m3 cluster. The s50 housing has a provision for the temp sensor but I need to use it for the VANOS oil feed. I'm looking at the housing and there is a allen head plug in the bottom, would this be useable for either the temp sensor or pressure sensor? It's the very bottom passage.
Note: this is the old m52 housing but has the same bolt in the same location that I am considering using
