Where to fit brown temp sensor?

Fitting a replacement m52 but it only has 2 holes in the head! 1 e36 temp and 1 water pipe to inlet no hole for e30 temp sensor. I have done 3 m52 swaps and never seen this before. Will I have to drill and tap the head? Thanks jim

The sensor will go where that water pipe is on the side of the head, but you will have to get the threads on the sensor redone to match.
