zf gearbox / m20 flywheel

OK so I am using a zf gearbox and m20 flywheel with a paddle clutch and uprated pressure plate, I read that I needed to use an e21 323i release bearing, so I did.
The clutch biting point is right at the top. and its irritating,
So do i stick the stock e36 realease bearing - will that get the biting point half way down (in the right place?), do you lot use the stock release bearing or the e30 one?
its probably worth mentioning that I'm also using a brake bias pedal box with a 0.75 master and the stock M52b28 slave for the clutch.

I've got the exact same setup (pedal box, 0.75 master, stock E36 slave, M20 fly & clutch, E21 release bearing) and the exact same characteristic. Doesn't bother me too much tbh, I still have an inch or so of pedal travel above the bit point, but if I depress the clutch fully, there's a grinding sound - as the fingers of the pressure plate touch the friction plate most likely! Nothing a small rubber stop on the pedal won't fix.
Can you not adjust the static pedal position using the nut on the master cylinder pushrod to give you a little more travel above the bite point?

Yea I can but it's already at max lol.
I'm sorta happy I'm not the only one with this problem.

if you are hitting the pressure plate more then likely you DONT have the 323i E21 release bearing.

I do have the e21 release bearing because I ordered it especially, and its 5mm or so taller then the standard release bearing.
So I took a gamble and stuck the e30 325 release bearing in, there is a nice bit of dead space before it meets the pressure plate.

Best to fit a clutch pedal stop anyway, your clutch will last a lot longer

yeah its an OBP pedal box and it took some serious work getting it into my e21. they don't supply pedal stop kits so I have to fabricate my own, I have a cunning plan for that.
