m50 sump modification?

sorry if this is a repost, ive looked through the search, but cant find anything.

what needs to be taken of the m50 sump, am i right in saying the piece of metal that is like a little shelf or tray needs to be removed to allow space for the oil pickup? i can take a picture if needs be, but i think it is this bit, anyone?

The only time the internals of the M50 sump need messing with is if you are fitting it to the M52 engine as there are webs connected to the main bearing caps which foul the windage tray in the sump, so the windage tray needs removing by drilling out the rivets.

Otherwise, the only mod to an E34 M50 sump is some metal needs shaving from the end of the sump next to the flywheel if you are using a standard M20 flywheel. An alternative is to get the flywheel lightened.
