Engine/flywheel/clutch/gearbox combo

I'm going to pickup a m52b28 this weekend, it's from an auto 5 series with a broken autobox. The guy has tones of other stuff from e30's that he's braking incl a m20 flywheel.

What flywheel/clutch do most use with this engine and which gearbox? I've got a M42 gearbox in the car at the min (thats what I'm assuming is attached to the m42) that I was going to use unless I could get my hands on a b28 gearbox.

Should I ask the guy for the m20 flywheel or have I no use at all for it? Will the starter from the autobox be of use to me?

Most people use the M20 flywheel, clutch and a M20 starter.
You can use a M52 box but comes with more fabbing work.
You`l also need a spigot bearing as it`s an auto engine.
Dont forget the ews system as well, as the engine more than likely wont start without it.

Best thing to do is sit and trawl through the m5/2 transplant section (may take some time) to give you all the info that you will need. :)

Ok thanks guys, iS box, m20 starter and flywheel.

The m50 development thread is very daunting cause it's so long. Unfortunately I just moved to a new apartment and don't have internet access (I don't know how long I can manage that).

There doesn't seem to be much useful on the 528 auto but the guy has a m20 flywheel and I'll ask him for a starter to.
