C20LET pistons with M50/52

Remember reading somewhere that someone one here looked into using C20LET pistons in an M42 to lower compression. Guessing that the M50/52 is effectively an M42 with a couple of extra cylinders, could they be used to lower M50/52 compression?
I.e are bore sizes, little end type size similar and piston bowls suitable for a compression drop?
