I see there are two types one metal and one plastic.
Does anyone know what , if any there is any diffrence between them ?
Real oem states. cast iron blocks use the metel one and ally blocks use the plastic type.
Also my oil pump square dimples are facing inwards and are not facing outwards (i thought they face outwards) has anyone taken apart thier M52 oil pump apart before?
cheers
Oil pressure valve M52 diffrence and rotor positions?

This is good to hear as i bought a m52 oil pump and took it apart to check the internals. And the ring and spur gear were facing inwards. It may have been someone has been inside previously but the gear pressed on the shaft had the dot facing inwards too. So still possible someone assembled it incorrectly. But having a look at the workings i cant see why it wouldn't work either way and can't work out why the dimple faces outboard. I think it's fine as long as the dimples match. Saying that tho cant see a reason why they have to, unless it's so they wear together. As for the oil px valve mine is metal and can't see why the material design changed but i personally prefer metal as it just seems more heavy duty and shouldnt get brittle. Altho iv never heard of plastic ones failing.
Ah. Yes never even thought of checking. It's 1 730 070 so m50. With metal of valve and inward facing dots on pump gears. Will m50 pump fit on m52 and is there any difference in pump output or anything. Hate ebay sellers listing things as m52 when its not. Suppose I should of checked the numbers tho they are on the pictures.
