Hi all,

I just sorting things out before the m50 goes in the e30.

On the gearboxes, there is a electrical plug for something to connect to. I'm assuming this is for the reversing lights.

On my original getrag box (M40B18) is had a differnt type connector but the lead for it came off when I took out the gear linkage.

It might seem a really stupid question (probably is), but how do I connect this up so the reverse lights come on when I select reverse.

Cheers

Stu

If its the same same as my S50, the reverse light wiring is on the engine loom on the E36 - this cant be used on the E30.

All you need to do is connect the E30 wiring (comes down near the gear stick) to the switch on the E36 box. I had a spare plug that fitted the E36 switch, so just connected that to the end of the E30 wiring which is spade terminals IIRC, so nice and easy to work with.
