I'm thinking about buying a 316i auto to do an M52 manual conversion, Kos said this makes things more difficult?

Could anyone elaborate for me?

well you will need to swap the struts over to the larger 51mm struts off 325's, tourings, cabs or 318is' and also swap out the rear for disc brakes

How hard is it to change the pedal box?

When you say struts, what do you mean, since i'll be buying new shocks/springs anyway or is the mounting different?

If the shell is in good condition fitting the better front and rear suspension/brake parts is not the end of the world, an extra £100 worth of parts is all it is

It is slightly more effort, but nothing harder than an engine swap itself
