Has anyone else used the m30 power steering pump. I have and its really squealy especially when cold starting. Its also a lot lighter on the steering than my m20 with PS.

just wondering if the pump is too much for the e30 racks and its cavitation i can hear, the oil is very aerate.

i've got a spare pump so might try that first if not then does anyone know if an m20 pump will fit?

I don't know to be honest Chris, you know when you turn the wheel to the extreme and it squeaks a little as it bleeds. Well mine is like that all the time. Its not leaking oil.

Cheers

When I fitted the S50 in my old M3 It would bleed up fine but then get noisy again shortly after, turned out I had the supply and return pipes the wrong way around on the bottle. Swapped em round and all sorted.

Does the M30 power steering pump match up with the standard rack + pipes with no modifications?

The m30 in mine has the power steering pump in the boot (never fitted)

Yes all fits fine but you need a m20 pipe from the tank to the pump
