deep thin walled 30mm socket, you can get them from Halfords

might need to pull the flange of with pullers

Ok thank you, is there any special name for the socket as looked in website and couldn't see one, will I also need heat?

I have a halfrauds socket for this job, I had to have it machined to fit though

Thank you, managed to get it off, now to put it all back together.

Anyone able to give any advise on the wiring for the m30 conversion?

It's all in the wiki matey but in summary the engine loom is almost identical to the M20 mmotronic 1.3 you just need to swap 2 wires over at the plug and check the all important pin 20 if i re-call correctly - have a look at mine and Lee Parkes build thread and the wiki as its all in there.

From my thread....
leeparkes wrote:Quick update,

ive done the wiring mod on the loom,
instead of messing with the c101 plug(ie pulling pins out)i cut into the loom

i unravelled some of the tape what covers the loom then picked out the 2 wires (white with black stripe & black with purple stripe),sniped and swaped them over then wrapped it back up with insulation tape.

Thank you lee,

Where the manifold joins the down pipe is hitting the bulk head? How can we resolve this or did yours not do this?
