Is all it has stamped on it

Thanks so much Rav, I didn't want to make the same mistake twice.
Right, just need to swap the unwanted e36 316 box for this one and flipping heck I think I might actually have a gear box. WOP WOP !

That must be an early one.
As mine doesn't have the overhang on the bottom of the gearbox like it does in you 1st pic.

Just had a look in my old pics, my E34 box is 260.01302.92
That pic looks like an M30 box so it may be an early one.

Thanks gents, it's said to be off a e28 535 so could be an old one.
Will be very happy when it's in my garage also
