My humble m30b35 moordoor....

Ok so she's almost done, just a few bits to tidy up. Got my new wheels on today.

I know a lot of folk don't like moordoors, but I like mine! It's practical especially when I'm out with the missus and lad.

Fine, I was worried about it tramlining buts it's planted firmly.

Steering is nice and light. Rubs ever so slightly when on full lock going on a hill, i.e. reversing out of a sloped drive with wheels turned. Tiny bit of inner arch work my be needed, I'll get my Birmingham spanner out and sort it..

Other than that no issues but then again I don't have it stupid low.!

looks great mate, got any pics of the engine bay ? bet it drives well, what diff you running ?

Re:

by mcbonio
I think the diff is 3.73 open.! Original to the car when it was a 325i.

Drives fine, couple of little rattles here and there which I need to hunt down, but yeah fine. Got one of speedtouch's 22+ BHP chip in too. It rags.!

I have a pic of the engine bay somewhere, needs a clean though.!

Did you notice much difference with the chip, thinking of a purchase, little xmas pressie to myself

Re:

by mcbonio
Yeah a lot of difference, bottom end torque boost and revs to 7,500.!

When you go WOT is seems to have this boost effect, kinda like how a turbo feels when it kicks in.

Sees off my brothers 3.0L 225bhp supra no sweat so I know for a fact the chip is working.

Money well spent IMHO.

WOW, ok what induction set up is that ? looks great, also your washer bottle, what is that from, looks to fit really well in the battery tray. Great pic, cheers mate.

Very Very Nice

The washer bottle I'm not sure.! I got this as a part finished project from a mechanic so there are some bits I haven't done myself.

It kinda looks like its from an e36 6 pot. It sits great in the battery tray and wraps around the strut tower well. I'll see if I can get a part number off it.

The induction kit is an ASH one, just all bits and pieces cobbled together I had. It's great at high revs but driving around does bugger all. Considering putting an M30 box back on.!

Washer bottle looks to be from an E30 324 diesel.

I think that is Alex's old car, I sold him the interior which was in very nice condition!

It looks great, I like a 4 door E30 8)

Thought it looked familair

Re:

Shes in much better condition in my keep.! I had all the bumpers and mirrors painted up, new rear valance, body work polished and new fixtures, lights and badges all round. -25mm drop on the rear.

Wired up the fan correctly to use a temp switch and relay and fixed fuel gauge which was a bad sender.

Fixed that grinding Alex thought was the brakes when it actually was a bad wheel bearing.

Also sorted the running issues Alex had, mostly a fooked cheap set of ignition leads! Emissions were high as some idiot wound the AFM screw in all the way.

Before and after.

Personally I think a nice new chrome grill would finish it off :)

Do you need an oil cooler grill too? I have one kicking about if you are interested?
