Yes, once its secured at the top with the bolts use a cable tie through the fins just to stop it from moving at the bottom, it doesnt need to be tight its just to hold it in place.

You will know when yours is fitted :)

You only need one at the very bottom of the rad and just tighten it till you start to see the rad moving back

Use a decent quality one though as rads do tend to get hot :)

With just one E30 rad bracket removed (part of the shell) the E28 rad almost wedges in place between the chassis rail and the other bracket, all it needs is a tie as some extra security.
I think if both brackets were removed the rad would flap about at the bottom.

Ive seen cable ties hold a lot worse, was it cypriotgeeza whos gearbox was held on with them

N Imy, i'm running with the E34 rad with no problems, so it's staying.

Lee, now that's "Diffin"

You can get cable ties with a metal strip built in these are stipulated on any commercial or industrial cable installation when the cables are being suspended or run on trays due to the cables dropping if a fire breaks out.
Though in practice most companies balk at the price and I've yet to meet a QS that checks this.
Just get a couple of brackets made and bask in the oem homo glow it will create.

Ok its not an OE part but any job thats done once then forgotten about does achieve a certain smugness.

Not knocking Lee though as from what I've seen him achieve (on his own, in the open) cannot be knocked or disparaged.

I've had cable ties on mine as a temporary measure for, err, 4 years i think!
I did upgrade to some of the re-usable types once though :)

Mate the whole car was held together with them..whoever done the conversion must have had a fetish  lol

from my memory the things which where cabletied where:
-Exhaust to the brackets
-Gearbox linkages, and gearbox itself in some parts where they couldnt get bolts too
-The expansion bottle
-wiring (which is reasonable i guess)
-radiator Which you can see in this pic:
Image

and thats just from my memory!
