right this is my first conversion, i'd tackle it myself but i have neither the time or space however i am very pally with my local garage and im going to 'help' as and when to keep costs down. so the plan is engine out of 325 touring, drop 3.5 in

ive re read the build threads a few times. from what i can gather i need to;
fit rad off e28 or 34 donar
prop? change the gearbox flange?
loom change two wires around (its a 2.5 motronic job)
engine mounts where can i get these?
any pointers will be much appreciated, may even start a build thread

Yes but e34 donor rad has to be non air con (air con rads are massive and wont fit between the chassis rails) i used an M20 rad for a while with no issues
Use a 325i prop or get one custom made at around £100
Loom, swap two wires and also you need to earth a wire from the body loom (green wire i think)
Engine mounts: see above

Vouch for Lee's engine mounts, hardcore bits of kit.

If you can find an M3 E30 prop it's perfect bolts the M30 box straight up with the E30 diff
I like Lee used an E30 325 rad for a while, kept the temp almost exactly the same as my E34 replacement.

E28 535 rad, It's a better fit and much more surface to keep it cool. Leccy fan set up is easy and there is a space in the e28 rad for the switch too. You will also need to turn the flange on the exhaust manifold (nearest the steering coupling) 90º or it will fowl the linkage.

No flange twisting for me but it is close.

I only had to do this when I fitted an E46 330sport rack

it was fine with the standard E30 rack

324td propshaft is also perfect fit

Will be the e30 324
I have done my conversion and one for a local too, and both had the manifold flange to close for comfort. Mine is on non pas and the other on pas which was alot closer (mm's) I suppose they all sit slightly different then.
