hi,

i have been offered a m30 with gearbox for a reasonalbe price, but the problem is there is no loom or ECU.

would this be a problem? i know that the m20 loom can be used but i would rather get a m30 one, are the ECU and loom easy to find/buy?

There is a few ECU's on ebay and alot of E34's being broken. Should be ok?

A manual gearbox is probably the hardest thing to source, I wouldn't worry about lack of loom/ECU - although I guess this means you can't hear it running?

Are the engine & gearbox from an E34 or E28?

Try on here in the wanted section for a loom or on here

M20 can be used, see here http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=156582

ECU, M30 ones are easy to come by but you can also use an M20 ecu with the chip swaped, im sure Rav is using an M20/b20 ECU with one of speedtouch's chips

As said id buy it if it was cheap for the manual gearbox alone.

Sure am, using a M20 325 ecu with Speedtouches chip and works fine.

Pleased to report the M20 loom works fine, the loom i bought was damaged hence the car not running. Sorted now, fired up about 10 minutes ago and sounds pretty sweet, more like a WWII aeroplane than a car!

Well, manifold was on but no downpipes etc! But yeah didnt wanna waste time fitting exhausts and filling with coolent etc if the engine was toast already....

It's a well know rule that when doing an M30 conversion you have to start it up wthout an exhaust system fitted
