M20 Oil Pump Rebuild or Replace?

Hi I have a 162k mile engine that I’m doing a bottom end rebuild on…
I’ve removed the oil pump and dismantled it to find three/four teeth on one cog has bad pitting, and the housing has some minor scoring in it where it look like something has been in there…

I’m trying to figure whether it’s too far gone to rebuild with new cogs (which are proving hard to source anyway)

Or buy a new replacement pump from Schmiedmann for like £250ish…

Any help greatly appreciated, if I can save the housing and someone has some very good condition cogs I’d be interested in buying them

Thanks

when i built my 2.7 stroker i had a choice, either rebuild the original oil pump, replace it with a new/rebuilt one or replace it with the one from a m21 derv donkey,

i went for the "new" one from the M21(D), not cheap or easy to find, but if you can save the original one then go down that route.

I recently purchased a brand new one here

https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/oelpump ... ssend.html

I think there was around £30 in import charges aswell

Did a bit of homework as i wasnt sure if it was genuine but it looks identical to the one ireland engineering sell so they are not the chinese crap
