Thinking of swapping my 1.6 for a 2.5....
Its a touring so all the bodywork should be right no?

My main concern is do i need just an engine and ecu or do i need anything else like a different diff or whatever?

Cheers, Andy

Wiki has a good guide to diff ratios.

You would be needing the loom, rad and expansion tank as well I would imagine.

6 pot dial chip to make the Rev counter work

You'll be wanting the gearbox (and gear linkages), prop and diff all from a M20B25 - it's not just the diff ratios that differ. The M40 cars have small case diffs which won't last long behind a 2.5 lump, so you'll need the larger medium case diff as found on the 2.5 cars.

This is beginning to sound very expensive!!

I have never done an engine swap in my life so im a bit wary.... But i need better than 1.6!!

Used to have a 2.5 touring and this new car doesnt cut it power wise :(

Any idea what the finished costs would be?... its a 1993 car
