I'd like to know the same. The e36 2-5 and 2-8 engines (unsure of smaller variants) use the rad with expansion bottle on the side, a space saver if ever there was one. The only problem i forsee with this is the fact the rad flows side to side and not top down meaning the feed/returns are on opposite sides of the engine. I think that the m42 rad is a similar part.

m42 works fine just need late cooling parts for it to work.
