E30 Zone

ok so I'v had my 325i for 1 week and have checked for all mechanical problems, and fixed a few. Im starting to design my kit but would really like the input of people who have been able to reliably turbo the 325i low comp engine. These are the specs I am pritty certain to go for, just have to find the parts.

ARP Studs
MLS Headgasket 0.080"
T3/T4 TO4E0.5 A/R Turbo
23 x 56mm core intercooler
24 Lb injectors
FSE Fuel Regulator

Not sure on what to do management wise, I dont want to blow a massive amount of money on a mega squirt so was wondering about chips?. the idea is not to go too mental straight out the box, get the system dialed and reliable and then crank up the Hp.

The above are just specs mainly. brand wise I;m not sure.

Does anyone have any sugestions for AFM/MAF options?

The aim is to start by acheiving between 240-300 rwhp for stage one. Clutch will also be swapped out, as well as the sourcing of an LSD but I havnt decided on the ratio as yet.

Will also be changing the oil rad and adding water jets onto the intercooler, mainly for S**ts n giggles.

You´ll not get very far with Motronic and rising regulator if you want to keep the system running nice and easy.

skip the old T3/T4 stuff and get a new type of turbo that actually has some relevent technology in it.

just get a standalone right out of the box, in all honesty it´s the first thing you should buy and install.
You´ll not need a MAF that will get dirty eventually or fail, you´ll have a host of other excellent features.

I´d reccomend a VEMS ecu, you are located in Oxford as am I, and I could easily help you out with installing it and pointers regarding the turbo stuff.

Don´t buy anything smaller then 40lbs injectors btw

cheers for the great info, I'm at brookes uni. would be good to have some pointers on were to go with the project. I want to get the system sorted on paper before i get the parts so I dont throw money out the window collecting random parts. Im going to read up on the vems ecu and start looking at costs. cheers for the heads up. the planned date to start is around end of september as I'll have the cash. Would be great to have some help with the ecu as its not my strong point.
