E30 Zone

hi all, just thought i'd show some pictures of my light restoration of my touring 325. i bought a 325 saloon with an lpg kit on it a month or two back and decided to get myself a nice 325 touring to fit it to. i found a good silver one with two owners from new, the last one had it for a few months when the head gasket went, the first had it for 18 odd years and had it serviced by a porsche/bmw specialist with a full service history so it was a good one to have.
i fitted a few choice bits to it like a 16 button OBC and 370mm tec 2 steering wheel and thought i'd take a look at the engine next. unfortunately the original head was cracked so i decided to swap the whole lump from the lpg car into it and give it a tart up in the mean time.
i replaced most of the external gaskets etc but kept the engine whole so as not to disturb the head gasket etc.
whilst the lump was out i also tarted up the engine bay by giving it a thorough clean and lick of paint where needed, and also fitted an e36 rack.
All the engine parts have been either shot blasted and painted or just cleaned by hand or by using my ultrasonic cleaning tank to make it all nice and shiny.

That looks really clean. Good work! Not driven an lpg M20 before myself but I'd be curious to try.

cheers mister, not driven an lpg m20 either. yet. can't wait as my everyday transport is a diesel sharan. built the garage last year hence the cleanliness of it still.

Driving an LPG M20 is exactly the same as driving a petrol M20. It sounds slightly smoother, and the oil stays cleaner, but the only real difference is when you hand over the money in the fuel station.
40p a litre last week, in Belgium!
