Anyone rotated the oil filter housing so the filter points down? Do the Oil cooler hoses clear the A/C ? I assume they need to be removed and refitted to reroute them a bit.

Anyone got photos of end result?

I'm sure there was a thread about this a while back, about fitting temp gauges and deleting the oil cooler, had a look but can't find it at the mo.

No photos but my old friend Adrian did this when he turbocharged his 1983 323i back in the eighties, I can't for the life of me whether he deleted the oil cooler or re-routed them though.

323i didn't have an oil cooler as standard. They came in with the 325i

Old thread but I'll add to it anyway:

There's no AC on my car - but I did rotate the filter -immediate oil light off on start up, so no drainage anymore which was my reason for attempting this -
I reversed the hoses into the cooler as this creates a bit more slack - otherwise a bit too tight I thought.

Been like this for maybe 18 months now - all good.
