in a nutshell i have an 88 316i manual, i want to convert the car to a 325 6 pot motor with a manual box and a decent diff!!

is there anythintg that going to cause a major issue if i buy an engine box loom and ecu and swop the lot? or is it literally jsut as simple as one motor box ecu and loom out, and the other in???

any particualr 325 year or model to go for when buying the bits?

cheers Gaz

if it were me dude i'd go for an early high compression 2.5 engine, a late engine loom with the single crank position sensor and a 320i gearbox for sport ratios, radiator and a taller diff

The only thing that springs to mind is the bracket needed for mounting the airflow meter/filter,

Hope that helps :D

it is pretty much plug and play, fit 2.5 engine with loom still attached.you need 2.5 radiator, prop, radiator mounts, throttle cable, ecu and i'd change over to 2.5 brakes aswell.
