hi there, i'm atempting to put a 325i engine and box into my 316i. i was told that the mounts will be the same but having looked at them they seem to low and the new engine might catch on the sub frame etc. i've looked at 325 engine mounts on ebay and they jut llook to be a bolt on part. is this true? or is there welding involved? are the gearbox mountings the same or will they have to be changed as well?

the engine i have bought has everything there apart from a bolt or plug where the oil filter is housed. this "bolt" was removed as the previous owner had fitted an aftermarket oil cooler. does anyone know what the name of this part is or how i can get hold of one???

ny help with this would be greatly apreciated

thanks very much

M20 engine mounts, whether from the 320 or 325 work fine. Also a good idea to replace the runner mountings at the same time.

Re the oil filter bolt.
Do you have the take off for the oil cooler or has it been removed, as there are 2 M20 filter bolts available.
One is for the 2.0L which has no oil cooler take off and the other is for the 2.5L which should have the oil cooler take off's
