Rolling Road Day/Eurofest Saturday 6th Sept

I am starting to organise a Rolling Road day on the Castle Combe Eurofest day.

Our last E30 dyno day was a success and was enjoyed by all. Also gave some raised eyebrows and upsets on some power outputs, but was a laugh and a joy to meet some new faces.

Obviously, the day will be as it was then, hopefully we will have more room, but as the Eurofest is happening in our back garden, people can go round the circuit if they get board.

I maybe planning a prize for the highest power output and best set up car of the day.

The Eurofest taken from the Castle Combe program:

Eurofest Action Day:

"Eurofest highlights the best of European performance car manufacturers. It is the only track event that celebrates the Continent that invented the motorcar.

The display area is divided into country of origin i.e., German, French, Italian and British manufacturers, to make it more user-friendly for Owners Clubs and visitors alike.

Entering its third year in 2008, it is our fastest growing Action Day. Numerically, French clubs have been the most prolific, but this year we expect much larger contingent of Italian clubs and owners.

Sessions on the circuit are open to all clubs but with some sessions for country of origin.

New for 2008 will be 'New-to-Track' sessions, with the lunchtime giant Euro Cruise open to all Owner Club cars.

This year we will be celebrating the BMW 3 Series as our Theme of the Day with owners of this model particularly welcome and enjoying their own parade session."

Taken straight from the program and to book track time (and I would do it as soon as possible) is 01249 782417.

Looks like it will be a good day.

I am situated on the main road outside the race circuit (Circuit Motors) so the rolling road day will be held there - not the circuit!

Price is £30 inc vat. If you want anything else measuring its another £5 inc vat.

All those interested, please list your names below:

Will probably be there. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to action days, too many dicks in MaxPower wagons. Normally save my pennies for tack days but seeing that its E30 friendly will book mark it.

Thats if I survive the Ring

Andy - would be nice to see you too.... wanna come along and take pics? :D

Everyone will be welcome and not just E30's.

Thanks Jon, yeah, there are a few Action days comming up, but thought it good to have this one on this date because of the Circuits celibration of the 3 series and its a "Euro" fest too.

You could bring your 318is, I havn't seen one make the standard power yet, they have all been over!!!

Thats cool mate, just call me or speak on the day if you like.

Looks like not much interest here, I may buy some track time and take my 318is out in the afternoon.

Anyone want to clear up the "whats fasted? 318is or 325i sport" around Combe? winkeye

Upto you Borisritter on what time you come, it depends on what time your slot is on the circuit. But saying this, I don't want to hang around untill the end of the day to do power runs  Best come as early as possible.

Kick off is at 9am.

If i can make it then i'll be there. I won't know till next Friday for sure though. Is it just power runs or will you have time for a bit of map tweaking?

Hey mate, just power runs really.. unless we don't have much more interest in the dyno day, then maybe we could tweak it here and there?

I really have got to get the 205 off its axle stands!! Thankfully the rusiest ever wishbone bush has been released today with a hacksaw blade, no hacksaw due to room constraints  And you thought watching paint dry was boring! All being well I am still on for this. 95%+

I have seen Rogs skill with an angle grinder. Most funny on the Renault 5. I suspect it was another space constraint.

Space constraint indeed, also I was only 18 with no such things as power tools

That was by far the most tedious job I have ever carried out on a car,an 1986 Mazda 323,cracking car TBH :D

Back on topic....... Get that MI16 ready Jon and stop posting on here!
And Sheps,i'm looking forward to see what my "new" engine is pushing out...........or by the same token, isn't! My orry ginal B25 engine was only giving 134bhp :(

Might be able to turn up but I can`t commit, I`ll just arrive on the day if I do to say "hi" and ask you to dyno my car. Might be able to give someone a passy ride round the track if they want - just ask me on the day. It`ll be a relaxed run as I can`t risk smashing me car.

It would be great to see you again Darren! Relaxed run? I think its probably safer to go for it, no twats in die hard Saxo's and Nova's smashing into you.
