*******s. Now going to be a more difficult decision about whether to bother going, & an easier one on whether I bother renewing my membership.

Same problem as zimmerbimmer1... would be happy to pay for an e30 pass if someone is going and has a spare one...

as near to the entrance road as poss, get there early enough. as i couldnt get a pass either, i was hoping to sell a load of e30/36 parts from my boot for the passers-by in the car park anyway.

Compared to the last Gaydon meets i think this one is going to be abit pony due to the fact that most people will be stuck in the carpark and not down in the thick of it, shame really - i enjoyed going there!!

I got my tickets for the day online and they send you a pass you put in the window to get in.
Apparently being a member of the car club just makes it cheaper.

i'm going to have right winge now
what part of the following is difficult for some of you to understand......................
its a CAR CLUB event, some of us pay for membership, and that give us priorety to have out cars on diplay. any one crying about paying £45 a years is a joker and a tighter than a camels arse in a sand srorm, its less than £1 a week.
some zone members have very nice cars, which will be on disply because they are members, but some you dont want to pay the yearly membership fee, with which you can get dicounts with will out wiegh the cost of the £45 fee
last year, cars got in which shouldnt be there, scrap whish had primer on them, dented to fuck and ill fitting body kits etc and it really let down the display. £10 quid to get in and park in a general bmw car park is not a lot really. walk the 5 minutes and look at the some of the finest bmw's in the country ( but no doubt some avaridge cars will get in who are car club members) , also it was cramped, especailly in the e30 register area
no independant forum's have display areas ( apart from one which is a magazine's area which pays for the privelidge ), just car club sections e30 register, M power, Z's etc.
the show its self is open to every one, and every one is welcome. because you cant have your car on show doesnt mean its not worth going, i'm not driving there or have any of my cars on disply but i'll be there ( my car pass is going to a friend with a car i know is worthy of being on display ! )
grow up, go to the show and enjoy it for what it is, beacuse you cant show off your car in the main display area is stupid ecuse not to go and you sound more stuck up than the club organisers them selves. they will be seen , the main car car park get lots of attention as well

Its even better value 'cos if you renew by dd its £35 ...

just seen the site map and the lay out of the display area
non pre booked cars have a car park next to the main display so if you are a member but have not got a "booked space" you may have a chance of getting it on show ( they normally do this anyway for about 100 cars ) if you get there early and your cars a nice example you'll be "allowed in"
pre booked space covers the e30 register, Z's, '02's, coupe etc and M power
so there is hope for some of the members who didnt manage to get allocated space. and i'm sure if you drive a nice decent e30 and NOT a member you may be ushered in as well if the organisers want it in ,
the reason its like this is because last year a few CC members who are on the zone handed out passes to people on this forum who said they'd like to "show" their cars. passes were handed out with out seeing them and some were really shocking ( wish i took pictures to shame these idiots). this is whats caused the organisers to clamped down on cars being sneaked in.
it your own fault and the friendly people where who were conned into it.
if you want to stand by your car all day and be seen by lots of people as you try to impress them, make sure its a decent one and join the CC, if not go to the nearest max power cruise or mac d's drive through.
this is show is not about YOU, US, or the zone its about BMW's and the cars

I'll be going down in the 320is. I'm a car club member and bought my tickets in advance but they had no display passes left, bummer!
I'll just have to get there early hope they like what they see

I'm glad I saw Kos' last response as I was going to write
"It seems as if you can afford £45 you can display your scrap which is trash"
But the way they are doing seems right I suppose. To be honest I wouldnt ever want to display a car at a show, no matter how good it was, as there is always someone better (or worse) than yourself and your car. Ego boost for some people?

Kos is right. If you want to show (and get more benefits to boot), join the club. If you don't, park in the car park and walk in.
Not that i should agree with him, calling my car a scrapper

Im a paid up BMW Car club member and drive an E30 track day BMW and love it, not everyones cup of tea and probably not what people want to look at when at a show but im still going. In fact im going in my brothers E30 325i tourer whic isn't on display either.
Now if I had an E30 M3 that would be a different matter all together........I would be at the front. (big smiles)
Skyline shows again very different because mine is rare as rocking horse pooh!!
If you like BMW's then go along to the show, it's going to be a nice day - pop over to the museum. everyones happy!! It's not rocket science

i am going, but i didnt know you need a pass, someone mentioned a pass i thought it was a pass to get in, never been to this place before, but then i was told the pass is only displaying your car, you can buy a ticket to walk in and park your car in the car park.
i am going to join the bmw club so i will be prepared for the next meet

Mine will be parked in the car park.
E30's are cool, but probably not what the guy in his company BMW can understand. I left the Porsche club, due to snobbery and it was full of people that owned the car to be seen in it and hadn't got a clue about the heritage cars. Same happened with the Lancer Turbos when the Evos arrived.
Unfortunately this is what happens in modern clubs when you own the old car.
I'll enjoy the show as I'm into BMW's not just E30's.
It'll be a good day, can't wait.
