Hi Mart and Oggy, it's been on my to do list to sort an informal Yorkshire region meet up so tonight I had a ride around to see if I could find a pleasant open space where we could park up and have a natter. First place I went to was Pugneys country park / lake just off the M1 Jcn 39 but was packed at 8pm- too many cars and way too many people. I then went a bit further onto Heath Common 5mins out of Wakefield.
Looks perfect for a quiet meet up - certainly not a place that would put up with revving engines and "burn outs" though. Never done this before but it would be good to get a few cars together.
It looks like a weekday evening would be best as it may get full at weekends. Location is WF1 5SW ( look up Kings Arms Pub ) - probably best after 4th July. Anyone interested?
Nice area for parking.
Off road parking near front of pub.
Good roads around Heath Common village.

Hi Trevor
Thank you for your message earlier today, I'm very good thanks and hope you are too.
My E30 restoration project has been put on hold for the time being due to covid but I'm still interested in a meet up, so yes, count me in
Cheers

Hi Trevor,
Yes it’s very frustrating that my E30 got stuck in the paint shop and it’s home know but work is mental at the moment so no time to put it back together !!!!
If you have a gathering and I’m available I shall come in my everyday car presume the E30 on the thread is yours ? If so it looks great what is it ?
Hope to meet soon,
Cheers Tim.

Hi Tim, its good to hear you have it back from the shop. You would be very welcome to join us in your daily. Hopefully we can get one or two more to come forward then we can settle on a date.
Yes it's a 318i lux and is nice and tidy and mainly original. Hope to see you soon. Any progress pictures of yours or have I missed a thread?

Ok, so far not a massive response to an informal meet of E30 cars on the manicured grass outside The Kings Arms on Heath Common, Wakefield, West Yorkshire !
As the weather is getting better I am suggesting to Tim, Mart, John and Damien and anybody else who wishes to join us to meet at this venue on Monday 13th evening around 7pm. All welcome - even if your E30 is currently off the road. Cheers

I will do my best to be there mate, my wife can now drive both cars so its either the Baur or the e46 325 cab, and if she is not interested then surely one of my boys will be up for it.
I will now book next Tuesday off work.
Happy days.
Mart.

Good to meet you John and thank you for turning up

I have attached the cars from the other angle - where your car doesn't look so small.
BTW your car sounds fantastic with that new exhaust. Hope we can do this again but with a few more joining us?
Good place to meet - refreshments nearby.
Fine looking cabby you have there John - it'll keep you busy ( and poor ) for a while.

Looks like there will four cars if we are lucky. Only me in mine so unless others are planning on bringing "guests" we should be OK. If we get more ( unlikely ) then we can have separate groups and swap about.
It will look more like this
Not this

Her indoors is driving because I fell to the brew when I finished work as I thought it tonight would not happen for me ( sad family/good friend loss last night).
But she has spoken so it has to be.
The Baur is not a work in progress , not after six years, just a bloody good friend.
She has just completed three tours of duty with me after my wife`s car was written off and after she stole the e46 !!!
I think my old girl (car) will make a great contrast !!
