i dont know if its ever been thought or enquired about before ?
But i like the idea, who else would be interested in a zone meet at goodwood, the circuit is available for hire
http://www.goodwood.co.uk/motorsport/mo ... -hire.aspx
i have no idea about pricing and how it works or if its too expensive, but i have sent an enquiery and awaiting a response, i think they do various sizes and maybe full and half days, but depending on what they say and the interest here, it may be something good for the zone for 2014, a big meet of zone cars and driving around the race track
they say
"At Goodwood we encourage car clubs to think of the Goodwood Motor Circuit as a venue to hold your private function. In the past we have hosted events for the Porsche Club GB, MG Owners Club, Maserati Owners Club and Morgan Owners Clubs. We welcome all clubs, any size and stature so if you are interested in finding out more about the hire of the Goodwood Motor Circuit, please do not hesitate to contact us directly."
so who would be interested ?

im sure some would, see it more as a track hire day than a meet, would be great to drive around and see lots of e30s there , a load of e30s parked up having a good meet and 5-10 cars driving around the circuit at a time
have absolouty no idea how much it would cost mind, weather within reach and reason, or not

Nice idea - but I am sure that you will get a HUGE shock at the cost
And even then the regulations and indemnities would rule it out
But 10/10 for the idea mate

doesnt sound like it would be crazy expensive, even if just a meet and a limited gentle cruise around the track, might be a goer, were not track day cars, more classic cars having a meet and a cruise and no ones goping to want to risk damaging their car

fook me you think

spose when it comes to a few staff, safety people, etc it adds up
il post up their reply, i wonder if on an empty day or after a half day hire, something could be done cheap, even if more of a meet, than a track use if it could be done for free, surely in syaing they can cater for a club no matter how big/small, they wont want 20k for a zone meet

asking to have a meet there for 30/40 cars is different to having the facility for a show/track day.
the minute you want the track the costs jump up, they will need mashals, noise checking, ambulance & paramedics, insurance etc

yeah of course, i wouldnt want to "track day" my car, sure a lot of others wouldnt either, would they let you kust have a gentle cruise around the track ? in convoy say with one of them in a lead car and keeping slow and just do 2 laps or something ? would that work and cut the need for the above ? or would for insurance and safety purposes be a total no go ?

I was there today for a 911uk event, and I think the people using the track paid @ £300 each!

I spend a lot of time at Goodwood in various cars and other than race (unlimited noise) or silent (electric cars or racing bikes) days, there are two types of day at Goodwood both run in sessions: 50 car 98db days where 10+ cars can go on track or 25car 105db days where 5+ cars can go out at one time. It used to be fixed at 10 and 5 but new noise management rules allow them to put more out if they are all quiet on drive by - as BMWs generally are. Unless you are running silly exhausts most E30s will be under the 98db static level (my M3 Evo is under 90) and will never trigger the drive bys.
The 20K estimate is miles out, you should be able to get it nearer the 5-6k mark with VAT if you take an uncommitted 105 day, 98db days may be less. Their website shows the current committed days, any gaps may be up for grabs.

I am doing a sprint there on the 2/11/13 . its un by the ac owners club and is a no profit event for 70 cars at £115.00 each. So relates to a hire cost of approx £8000.

Bear in mind that any MSA regulated event will cost more than a track day as you have to pay the circuit for additional marshals, race officials, scrutineers, increased insurance, etc, etc. Plus the club will have to pay TSL or another timing company to attend, and they might even buy a few trophies!
Good luck in the sprint, I've done a few there in my Radical. Cold tyres and cold brakes into Madgewick is a true leap of faith.

thanks. its the right hander before st marys that makes my cheers tighten
as for costs Pistonheads have a trackday there 40 cars £150.00 per car = £6000 and you can bet they'll want a bit pf profit from it.
