Gloucestershire meet May 6th

Hi I'm planning a provisional date of Sunday May 6th for a Gloucestershire Meet. :)

I haven't thought of location yet as not sure who's coming from where and who is up for it yet, but I'm sure we can find somewhere central, so its not too far for anyone, i.e 30-40 minutes drive.

Please add any suggestions on meeting place or date/time.

Also add your names to the list with your location.

1. Matt86 Stroud, Gloucestershire

ok mate, that would be good, haven't decided exact location yet, as may have some people coming from bristol and south wales possibly, depending on who puts there name down, but will be fairly close to stroud either way.

Well, Stroud pubs tend to be full of jobless scrote hippies and most of the surrounding roads aren't fantastic.

The best drives are up from cheltenham- cirecester- bourton way.

Depends on how far you want to go. The falcon in Painswick is nice, the Painswick beacon offers a great place for photos and a46/ a40 offers a nice blast out.

Alternatively, there is a stunning pub "The Waters Meet" but is a bit of a trek.

The frog mill is also a nice spot, fairly secluded.

I would avoid Rodbrough common, low speed limits, police, cows and day trippers out for ice cream make it quite boring.

too true, painswick beacon doesn't sound a bad idea, just wondering if its a bit far for the lads from south wales to come?

True, I drove mine to Portsmouth a few weeks back just for the sake of it and weather was nice.

I drive 3-4 hours minumum a day as a service engineer, have been pretty much everywhere in the uk :)

I could make it a bit later and you could come, or may possibly have another later in May, although your meet is towards end of May isn't it?

My meet is on the 19th, but I dont need to rush my car for that as the meet is up at mine anyway

Dont worry about changing the date mate, I'll be able to catch another one once my car is back on the road, i'm hoping to have it back on the road by the end of May but I've not set a date yet. Everything is straight forward in sorting on it but its just doing it that drags  And all this glorious weather we're having isnt helping :(

I know weathers shat, hopefully will be better for next week as going on holiday to barnstaple in the e30 and would be nice to get the roof down at least once. :)

Well I guess I'll catch up with you at your meet at end of May.

Matt, will give it a miss afterall, I'm ridiculously skint atm so I'm trying to cut down on my petrol consumption! the 320 is a thirsty beast. Your meet is only about a 60 mile round trip, but even that's gonna cost a bit.

A lame, larry lightweight excuse but there you go!!! :)

I'm still in, despite some extra problems that have come up. Matt86 has gone a bit quiet on the forums.

Anything we can help you with? Or is it car related :D

hehe, mostly car related, looks like my car has given in to the rain we have had lately and started pissing in water into the drivers footwell. I think its blocked drains from the sunroof, just need it to stop raining long enough to get a look at it.

Sorry guys I haven't been on for a while as just been on holiday in north devon and haven't been feeling that well recently, but I'm still up for this, or if you prefer we could make it a week or so later for hopefully better weather and more of a turnout?

p.s if I have my mtech kit sprayed by then does anyone fancy helping me with fitting it or know how to?

cheers :)

My car's got a horrible dent in it and the alternator isn't well and it needs a service. I won't be showing it off just yet chaps. :?

Its not really about showing your car off, its not a biggest willy competition. I think its about having a chat and a laugh talking to real people swapping knowledge out in the fresh air.

If you came you could pick up a working alternator off me too :D and you may meet somone who can help you with your dent.

A mate of mine is bringing his moredoor along too.

Have we picked a venue yet? I'm pretty central to everywhere so I'm easy as to where we meet up.

Yes, anywhere like that is fine with me also, I'm not much into driving round convoy stylee. I would rather just have a meet up, a chat and a cup of tea for an hour or so. Whats the forcast weather wise?

Hi there, sorry guys, I'm not doing a 100 mile round trip if there is only going to be one or two others. I'm still up for this in the future, but a date, time, and venue need to be set in stone well in advance it would seem.

Cheers Byron
