I hope it is better than last year. You had the 25th anniversary of the M3 and they were planted everywhere but the main ground but the max power nobs had the best plot again.

Poor show due to the poor organisation of allocated stands and the shit chavved up scrap on show.

And for that reason I won't bother again.

I take it that you are speaking about Sunday which I had nothing to do with, I organised the M photo shoot on the Saturday which went very well. When you say "shit chavved up scrap on show" do you mean everybody's cars.

Cheers,

GARY.

Hi Gary,

Yes the Sunday.

The max power crew in the main car parking area let it down IMO.

I was tempted to give the M3 its first outing at Gaydon,

Jury is still out though...

I didnt go last year as it seems a bit 'snobby' from what I could gather so gave my zone slot to someone else... Might pop along this year though depending on who else goes

I'm just trying to make it a better show for E30 M3 owners because if like me i'm really only interested in E30's especially E30 M3's. For the rest of the E30 owners you could try speaking to Sue Parker from the zone, I know that she has something to do with the BMWCCGB and maybe she could help.

Cheers,

GARY.

it was my first outing to gaydon last year and i gotta say i enjoyed it....maybe i'm a snob as well. i have to agree that there were some poor cars in the main parking lot, but some real nice ones too....a good show from the alpina forum apart from that peice of crap green horror on the end that the guy was trying to sell. i was up on the hill with the other zoners looking down on everyone else! it was a nice sunny day out and as i'm only a few miles down the road, i'm going again. e30 m3's were almost common on that day, would be good to see them out again.

jim, i think i got your ticket last year, so if you come along this year, i'll buy you a cup of tea ;)

is it confirmed on 19th august i think according to another forum as i cant see the date here on the zone?

The museum was pretty good too....I was on the hill, but with the e36.

As a cc member, I have to say this is a great show. At a good location IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE.

However, I think it needs a new location. I went 5 years on the spin and the last time I went in 2010, it was just one time too many. Once you've seen Gaydon and the car clubs general set up for a couple of years, it all gets a bit "samey".

I won't be there this year either.

just the way it should be! :teehee:

i enjoyed it, as always, and was happy to sort out the zone passes.
it was a brilliant weekend, camping was fun, lovely weather, some fabulous cars (with some not-so-fabulous, so?), good museum and good autojumble.
what is there to moan about? :?

I've only been twice and I'm bored of it already tbh.

I'm going to lower my touring so it's slithering about, fit BK reps and install some huge Goodman speakers and I'll have a better chance of parking it in the main area :P

On my two occasions of attending that seems to be the trend.

All my experience by the way and IMHO of course.

I agree with you when you say about some of the sheds that do be there, but everybody is in titled to take their BMW and they might not think theirs is a pile of shit. You see some cars there and you say to yourself what the hell is that or why would you even put that on the road but they must like it, each to there own. I think it is getting to big for it to be held at Gaydon but I do not work nor do I get pay'd from the BMWCCGB so they probably wouldn't listen to me anyways. Rant over.

Cheers,

GARY.

BMWCCGB listening? to anyone? Ha! :chuckle:

Good point well made Gary, with enough zoners and genuine enthusiasts there i'm sure it will be a good weekend, my moordoor is council as Kieran, and i'm sure RHD-ing the M3 will guarentee a prime spot, or a lynching! :D

Kieran,

you talking about the hard area to the right as you go down the road in ? the Show & Shine Area ? if so this year it may not be there at all

i hate the show and shine, its a waste of time and not taken seriously apart from a few people and it takes up valuable space

it was steve millers ( the CC organiser ) first year at tackling gaydon. there will be improvements mate

i'll be chipping in again and doing my best to keep every one happy, but it is difficult. the forum stands do not always take priority but i am here to help as much as i can

That's the bit Kos.

I appreciate it's a car show and it does attract good numbers but the owners of some cars need to look and think, is it worth it ?

Would you get ready and wear a brown suit, pink shirt, orange tie, white slip on shoes and look in the mirror and think you look good ??

Same approach needs to apply when looking at ya car IMO.

Thumbs up for the organisers and it's not a personal reflection on you Gary, just venting my frustration on the topic.

This year I will watch re-runs of Only Fools & Horses, drinking R Whites lemonade whilst molesting myself 8)

i agree that it needs to move location, and i'm sure it will. thats the feed back i've heard.

the show and shine are was always a "back door" way in for people who are not CC members, not affiliated with a forum. who whole ethos of the show is that its a community. the people who tend to go to the show and shine are there on their own and a lot of the cars there are poor quality

it serves so real function, so thats why its going. it will be used to have more hard standing area available for decent nice cars.

rav, yea why not we'll have our own prolapse party lol

once again, i am happy yo work with Adi or some one else to help the zone organise its own forum display. i've done this for the last 3 years and for other forums as well. so feedback is most welcome and taken on board

Guys is there anybody interested in taking part in this, the link above is not working at the moment because there is something wrong with s14.net, so to recap I am trying to organise a e30 M3 only display at the BMWCC show at Gaydon on the 19th of August coming which would bring all the e30 M3 like minded people together so that they are not spread all over the show, plus looking for owners that have restored their M3 to do a little talk on their ups and downs with their restoration's, Richard Baxter has already said that he will talk about his SE restoration but I would like others to join as well. So if you are interested in making this happen please email me at thompsongary@sky.com with your name and email.

Regards,

GARY.

With all due respect to the BMWCC they need to change the venue, its the same old place and does not stimulate an exciting day. Simply put, it is boring. So much potential and yet they refuse to stimulate their audience !!

Missed opportunity IMHO.

However, hope everyone that does go enjoys the day.

:D

Agreed that the venue needs to change but I'd not go a far as calling it boring

The annual festival needs to go to a track venue, rockingham gets my vote

I'm out as well.

The first was good enough and the second visit was like deja vu imo.

I'll give a few years then pop up again.

oh don't you start too!

i agree though, fabulous BMWs of all types, free interesting museum entry, good auto-jumble, some nice people to meet, decent clean proper toilets.....really dull and boring day :teehee:

looking forward to a good fun Saturday night camping too.

only one negative...Rav's not going

don't worry Mr. H., we will
