Well sad, just like the Santa Pod thread I started


But a few of us mentioned about heading down on the Friday and staying in a hotel then heading to Beaulieu on the saturday.


Looking into hotels etc, and was concerned if we left it too late we'd fine it a bit hard to actually get into a hotel closer to the time considering when it actually is etc...


Now, me & Fiona are thinking about booking some time very soon. I know Matt (Meatballs) & his missus are still up for this... And Eeeferteh and his missus too... So thats 3 rooms with 6 people...

Now who else is coming and who will be with you etc?

I'm trying find a hotel that will have us all for the 1 night at a good rate and not have to pay for it until then.

Dont want to book and pay for how ever many rooms then 4 people let me down


Rav, you'll be coming still? Alone or with the family?


Anyone else coming on the friday? Plan is to stay in the hotel friday then camp at Beaulieu saturday.

Friday night, drinks, arcades/2p machines and fish & chips.


Also need to know from someone local where might be a good place to stay... Seaside sort of place with 2p slot machines would be ideal for me personally.

Will be staying anywhere local really, I dont mind driving down then on the saturday driving an extra hour to Beaulieu kinda thing so if everyone hotelling it on the friday is cool with that, we have a wide area we can actually stay.

We travelled down on the saturday this year and then back on the sunday, staying the friday means we can have a bit more of a 'holiday' kinda thing.

Project trailer is currently project storage container. Waiting on Ricky to get the welder sorted which I dont think is gonna happen.

Just a thought guy's you could try Jess on the German show organising committee.

Jess works at www.town-or-country.co.uk based in Southampton, She can give you preferential rates cheap or as expensive as you want to make it, depending on how many of you share a property ? i.e. luxury apartment through to say a four bedroom property rented per night? quite a few property's in Southampton near the nightlife .

Only thing is parking is a premium in Southampton so do check with her where its safe to leave your pride n joy.

Just what I was waiting for Paul. Is she on here to speak to? I can get her on Facebook if not.

I'm happy to head to southampton for the night, although, the cars would be an issue as would be really crap to have one stolen while we're all the way down there.

The weekend of The German SHow is also the weekend that the Clipper Round the World Yacht race returns to Southampton. Hotels and accommodation will be busy and at a premium! My advice would be to book early and use big chain hotels to get the best deals!

I lost the link on Facebook you sent me But it looks like 2 of the 7 so far arent coming on the friday with us so it will only be 5. I'll get onto booking them soon and people can start giving me the cash back when I see them etc.

Just trying to figure out if its best for us to book a hotel in Southampton or somewhere very local to Beaulieu.

Being the holiday period I thought it might well be a busy weekend for some reason or other

@Jonny - Havent booked or found a place yet! Possibly staying over in Portsmouth instead though to meet up with a few zoners down there the saturday afternoon then convoy in with them

Well... From a quick search, we're looking at around £25-£35 per person for the hotel on the friday... Then we will need to drive to Beaulieu on the saturday and we look to be about 30-45 minute drive so include that in with your fuel...

From memory I filled up before I left last year then filled up as we set out to come home... £40-50 each time... Then drink and grub for the show, which this year I'll buy down there at a local supermarket on the saturday as I dont want it to go off in my boot. Or Fiona will bring it on the saturday as shes attenting a wedding on saturday in Leicester so coming down after.

Obviously we'll need tickets for beauliue too which are £20 so I'd budget £250 for the weekend and it should cover you and the missus, unless your massive pishheads and drink loads on the friday night...

Thats for 2 people... With drink and food, but just my estimate!

The Duke Of Buckingham - If we have 4 rooms it would be £55 per room... Thats based on 2 people per room

Currently I'm on my own so if anyone else is on there own the friday I dont mind sharing the room rather than having 2 seperate rooms...

I'm working it out on the basis of 4 rooms, which was.

Now Fiona isnt with me on the friday so if Rav wants to top and tail thats only 3 rooms, but if Jonny is coming then it would be the same 4 rooms...

But if anyone else is wanting to come then I'd need to know so I can make sure the hotel has enough rooms.

I wont be booking it for everyone though! You'll need to ring and book for your room, but I'll make sure I can 'reserve' it until you call and pay.
