Nurburgring - 21st - 25th May

Hey there everyone.
I'm not really into being able to organise stuff really but i just thought i'd put an offer out there for people.
On thursday 21st May, myself and 14 othere people, 6 cars and one bike, are leaving dover at 6.00am on a ferry bound for dunkerque. We will then be heading straight for the holyland that is the Nurburgring!!!!
Now it was hard enough to get the original 15 people together this year so the idea i'd like to put forward is that anyone else thats thinking of going at roughly the May time might like to meet up with us out there.
We bumped into a couple of zoners last year when we went in June and it really was an awesome crack.
So if anyone out there is going and wants to meet us out there, give us a shout and hopefully we can cross paths at the ring (hopefully not literally!!!!)

Damn, missed this thread, I was out at the 'ring this wknd and saw the two tourings one with the zone sticker, didn't manage to catch up with the owners. I got overtaken by both, on the same lap! Really screwed Adenau forst trying to dive out of the way of the red one, got a wave as he passed! They were properly hooning it, I was on lap three of the wknd showing a bit of a reserve and did a sub 10 minute on the bullet cam. The white one was looking pretty unbalanced at the rear! Didn't manage to catch up with the owners, flashed and waved at the red touring on the little roundabout by the entrance but think they were distracted
Some pics of mine from the wknd around the web:

Damn you where at the ring??? If i only had known.. I want to see your car!
Could be indeed that the other touring was red, one of the tourings had a zone sticker and a 'mowglie' sticker.

DUDE!!!!!!
The red and white touring were mine and my mates, mines the red one!
I remember overtaking you tim_s (sorry to rub it in lol) but i never got a chance to catch up with you!!!
I did an 8:51.7 so i was kinda on one! I didn't realise my car handle that well till i started punching above my cars weight and keeping up with 95% of stuff there round the bends. I lack a lot in a straight line tho compared to, say, the matt black Lamborghini Murcialago! lol
Awesome trip

Sorry dude, if you see me again come say hello! Hopefully going again later in the year, but might be in the m3 evo or 330 e46.

Haha, yeah you boys were going at it - makes me feel better knowing you did such a fast one! Did you start behind one another on that lap, i'm guessing you took a fair bit out of time out of the white one - think he came by me at pflanzgarten? I'm nowhere near that sort of pace around the 'ring, don't have the courage, always nags me that I have to bring the thing home in one piece! Know what you mean about the power, the IS didn't have much trouble keeping with yours on the straight up to metzgefeld, and I'm always wanting more out of it at the 'ring, it really is a circuit where it's nice to have some power! Standard 325 m20 in there? Might take my 330 next time, that's quite manly on the straights. What suspension, wheels etc you running, you had some yellow things on the rear didn't you?

We were trying to start about a minute apart. I'm in the red one and my best mate in the white one, the cars are almost identical mods wise and we are VERY competetive.
The ending would not be pretty if we went out together.
They are both standard 325 m20 lumps in them at the moment. I've got a half built 2.8 in the garage waiting to go in but didnt have the time or funds to get it ready this year. Its the only place now where the car needs improvement. Don't think i'd be comfortable going much quicker round the bends!!!
Ya right, there's always that thought of 'what if' although it doesn't usually pop into my head untill i've missed my braking point or i'm a turn and a half onto opposite lock lol.
The wheels ended up yellow on the back and different on the front bacause i cracked one on my first lap and one just before i left to come there so ended up a bit of a mish mash. They're supposed to be all yellow!
As for my car, spec as follows:
* 325i m20 rolling roaded @ 168.4bhp
* Gaz Gold coilovers all round
* Polybushed all round
* 17" e36 m3 copies with Yokohama Parada Spec II on the front and Toyo T1S's on the back
205/40 R17
*Wilwood big brake conversion, 310mm discs with 4 pot calipers and wilwood racing pads front (well worth the£850)
*Group N rally/race discs and pads on the rear, standard size but much improved materials
* Fully stripped interior including sound deadening etc. 2 bucket seats, harnesess and thats about it on the inside
* Few screws missing from drivers brain!!!!!
Is your avatar right, you got a 2.1 200bhp IS lump hiding in yours?

car sounds awesome, wonder what sort of time you'd do with the 2.8 in there

And yup, a juicy m42 lump in mine, thinking about brakes and coilies for next time, on konis and standard brakes at the mo, the brakes aren't the most inspiring on the 'ring. That or trading up to a 968, just cos i love 'em. Hoping to do another trip later in the year depending on how things pan out.

Brakes and suspension is the way forward.
Its amazing how late you can leave the braking and turn in with my set now. Well worth the money.
My mate in the white touring is going back out there in october, first weekend by the looks of it

Thanks, I remember your e30's. The red one with yellow wheels looked mean!
I blew my vanos unit to bits in Belgium on the way home and it's still in the Dealers being repaired.
Got myself a nice brand new 320d auto m-sport touring for a rental motor though, lovely
motor.

Cheers mate, my one is the red one with yellow wheels!!!
It did have 4 yellow wheels 4 days before we left then i found one of them was cracked. So swapped the 2 frontones for 2 silver ones. Got to the ring, did one lap then found one of the silver ones was cracked too!
Trip to a local little garage at half one sat afternoon, 10 euros, tyre swapped to my spare! Result. The locals were well helpful.
Hope ya cas alright after losing ya vanos. If its any consolation, i literally blew my centre silencer to bits on the way home, sooo loud for the 350mile trip home!!

I went 180 on the brakes changing down into the tight left hander, then backwards up the kerb onto the grass at adenau forst

luckily no car or armco damage, no leaks and didn't hit anyone, phew.
I'm fairly sure my standard rear silencer was close enough to cook the rear left tyre enough to reduce grip significantly. With my new exhaust the silencer is much further away being that much smaller, but I'm still tempted to insulate it (heat wrap) where it's nearest the tyre.

That's a good time Tomislav, averaging 80mph over the 12miles Bridge to Gantry.

Get yourself a touring mate! I've got the worlds largest rear silencer and its miles from he wheels lol.
The two corners after adenau forst, the tight left right at the top of the hill, i was drifting on the day we left, have to get the footage up some how, or a link to it
