E30 Zone

A few BMW owners in Swansea have got together to form a Welsh Region of the BMW Car Club.

We are holding an evening meet on the 7th April 2010 at:

Twelve Knights
Margam Road
Port Talbot
SA13 2DB.

This is less than a mile from junction 38 of the M4 and the pub is a few hundred yards from the Steel Works main entrance.

(You will recognise the Steel Works, it’s where they turn Subaru’s into something useful ”“ like washing machine bodies)

Anyway being a member of the Zone I know there are loads of good E30’s in South Wales. So lets see you ”“ take a couple of hours out and we can show the modern tin what real BM’s are

what time does it start? im working that day but will come even if im late showin up

Starts at 7.00 pm will go on till about 9.30 or so.

Come and go as you please but lets see as many South Wales E30's as poss.

I've just found out there is a parking fee -- which I will pay for all e30's-- this means you get a quid back on your first drink at the bar O.K.

no problem will let you know at least a week before if i am still going.

Took a swing by there tonight on my travels.

£1 parking in a pub car park? (which is not that big to be honest) refundable against the price of a meal.

£3.05 for a pint of Guinness!!! (perhaps I'm a tight bastard) which did not tasted that good. Locals seemed friendly enough though

30mph speed limit in a highly residential looking area with speed cameras. I think the police will turn up if you accidentally rev your engine a bit hard! Knowing most E30 owners this could lead to problems

Its only an evening meet. I dont want you to live there! and I am paying for parking.

Come to this one and we will set up a more lively Welsh weekend meet in the Summer and you can call the venue.

Or is this a case of the Welsh art of self defence? (Yak-y-dar)

new to all this folks but looking to come - will try and get my bog standard 1.6 a lil ready before the meet. looking for some advice on springs and shocks, if anyone can offer me some - let me know. want to lower is 40mm (seen Jamex and Gmaxx kits - any good?) on some borbet c's. will this work?

If your shocks are ok then GSF do a 40mm spring kit for about £50 which worked very well on my sons 318i.
I have a full set of Koni adjustable sports (35mm drop) on my car. You can ask advise on the night - Glad to be of help.
