Scotland Meet, Knockhill, 17th May 2009

				Can I make a suggestion?...
Considering the other thread seems to have flopped, I would like to make a possible suggestion for a National Scottish Zoners Meet.
http://www.europeandriftchampionship.eu ... endar.html
This is at Knockhill Circuit on the 17th May.
http://www.europeandriftchampionship.eu ... d%202.html
It's far enough away for people to book the time off work to make it (so no lamo excuses) and it won't just be meeting in a car park for a natter it would be a proper day out.
It sounds like it'd be a great day out, we could meet somewhere and convoy in, go in and and park up together have a natter, watch the drifting, then maybe do a drive out somewhere???
What do you guys think?
This is the first meet I've attempted to organise so I will be asking for help.

Theres approx 60 Scottish zoners on the list so should be a nice turn out.
SO..... I propose we have our national meet:-
When - May 17th 2009
Where - Knockhill Racing Curcuit
For - The European Drift championships
Tickets for the event are £15 for Adults.
1. Mummy-boo, Stitch-626 and the girls - 318i Touring
2.
3.
4.
5.
**Northern lot meet at the Maccy D's on the Forfar Bypass about 8am have a natter and some crappy coffee, then over to meet the Southern lot.
Southern lot meet at Kinross Services for around 9.30am-ish
Then off to Knockhill for about 10ish**

Topblag made this suggestion on the other thread
Topblag wrote:We could meet in the Tesco car park on the south side of the FRB or the park and ride at Inverkeithing on the Fife side.
It's easily accessible for those coming from all over, has a free multi-storey if it's raining and it's not too far from Knockhill.
If we get chucked out, there's another car park in Inverkeithing with plenty spaces which is usually quiet on Saturdays.
Let me know if I can help more.
Sounds good to me.

But I don't know Scotland too well as we only moved here last June.

				FWIW
My suggestion would be for the Northern lot to meet in the usual place I.E maccy D's on the Forfar bypass, before continuing onward to the main meeting point.
Possibly Kinross services????. which is reasonably close to the track.Unless there's any better suggestion's.

Sounds like a plan.

The show kicks of at 9am at Knockhill. I'll have to think and work out times and stuff, I'll work on it and post back in a bit once the kids are in bed..... My brain is mush now

I was just starting to think the same thing,
but we'll have to do it as we'll have an almost 4 year old screaming at us to get up cos we're going to this as one of her birthday pressies.
Last year she went to see the Monster trucks at Santa Pod.
SO....
How does this sound?
Northern lot meet at the Maccy D's about 8am have a natter and some crappy coffee, then over to meet the Southern lot at Kinross Services for around 9.30am-ish then off to Knockhill for about 10ish (depending on how much nattering we do!!).
The Knockhill site says the event runs between 9am and 5pm. So we should get there possibly as it all starts!

it doesnt matter how many add to a list. if a quarter of them actually turn up it would be a good result.

I've always found that the ones who put their names down generally DO turn up.
We've had some cracking meets in the last couple of years.........

That was the 1st end of year run up round Loch Lomond.
IIRC Aly had a problem as well, and had to get the AA/RAC to pick up the car.

I don't think I'm gonna make this one chaps / chapesses, as it's a 10 hour + round trip for me

Can you make the mini-meet for the zone roam Hayley ?

Mini roam - we'd have to give it a miss.
The 1st of May is our 5th wedding anniversary.
I'm sure Ian's got some kind of 'romantic' weekend planned too......... fish'n'chips tea and a lie in.
I can't even ask to be a tag along with one of you guys either, the joys of married life, eh?
