Hello Zoners

In addition to the Le Mans trip that so many of you are coming on, I am now planning a trackday.

Dear all.

I have arranged to hire the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire for the whole day on Saturday 6th Oct 2007. I am hoping that this event will be two-fold. Both as a meet and also an action-day. Depends what you want to do really.

It's a 2.2 mile circuit that incorporates 2/3 of the main runway and has a nice series of fast S bends. The track will be further laid out with the addition of a few extra chicanes to make it more exciting. But it's a good high speed spot with acres of run off should you get it wrong. It will be properly marshalled as per a professional track day and will be open pitlane with approx 25 cars on track at once. Instruction can be made available at extra cost.

This would be a good opportunity for a meet as well as it's in the midlands. I will have a static display area so anyone that wants to turn up and hang out may do so.

The cost depends on the number of cars.

We need minumum 65 tracking cars to run the show. Costs are as follows

Assuming 65 cars - £140
Assuming 80 cars - £125
Assuming 100 cars - £105

Cost will be PER CAR so no additions for passengers/extra drivers so bring your mates and split the cost!

There will be food available on the day.

Noise Limits are 98 decibels static
Crash Helmets are essential and can be rented on the day from Bruntingthorpe.

Not taking booking just yet. Need to get a feel for numbers at this early stage so please put down your names and if you are up for Track/Drift/Spectate or all of the above!

Cheers boys. We're a while away yet. Bear in mind I have priced this approx and it could very well be cheaper. But the last thing you want to do it advertise at £100 then put the price up!!!

Hi all.

Have updated all the info in the initial post. This is now open to being a proper meet as opposed to just a trackday. The pricing structure is also altered. More we get the less we pay!

Sounds good and i'm interested in a track day but as it's so far in the future i'll not put my name down on the list just yet.

One question though, 25 cars on the track at once but you may have 80 odd cars there so so how is the track going to be organized to avoid excessive ques and/or being kicked off the track every 10-15 mins ?

Hey all!

Numbers have increased substantially. We're nearly at the 65 car target which will mean £140 for the full day. Given brunters normally charge £50 per hour this is good value!!

If we can get to 80 cars then it will be £125 per car
If we can get to 100 cars then it will be £105 per car!

Here's the up to date list

Hi all.

Skidmark - sorry for reply. You can find up to date lists at Pistonheads in the trackday section. Have added you on.

Also decided to limit the number of cars to 75 thus giving 3 groups of 25. This is because it seems people in general would prefer to pay an extra £20 for less cars! Also remember the price is per car. No extra charges for extra drivers but you can only have 2 in the car at any one time.

Guy are you limited to just you and one other to use the car as i was under the impression you could have more as 3 of us have gone in on a car to get track prep'd. Also is it possible to bring along another car/van for tools and spare?

Cheers

Reading between the lines, it looks like Guy is "unavailable" . Big Thunder were organising the event for White Rabbit and looks like they will continue to do it if enough individuals contact them.

Link to "pistonheads" thread below.

I'm not registered on Piston Heads, so if anyone else is please put me down as still wanting to go !
