Hi guys,

I bought an 318i touring late last year, with the intent to build a sport/race build. I've been chipping away at the bodywork ever since.
Im looking for any advice or things to look out for when doing an M54 swap.
Also has anyone made or heard of a spoiler for the wagon ?

Welcome to the moneypit madhouse :D

M54 not the easiest of swaps and not really suited for a high revving track build, but if you go for it there are a couple of well documented swaps on the US forums and we did start an M54 swap section for thrashing out things.

There was an official spoiler for the touring but not many left, even fewer in good condition and they fetch good money when they do come up.

Lot of cheap replicas for other spoilers but not seen one for the touring.

Good luck :thumb:

If you can find an original Mtech touring spoiler and are prepared to pay a grand for 1.5m of rubber then go for it! There are fibreglass replicas to be found, usually in Latvia/Lithuania etc, have a search on ebay.

Welcome! How come you want to do an engine swap? There’s a reason the touring cars have all been 4 pots :drive:

Thanks mate, yeah I’m a car body repairer by trade, anything outside of that is getting googled thoroughly.

Yeah wanting a sporty feel, don’t think it will see the track but who knows.

Wowz, I’ll have a look aftermarket I think.

Thanks Mart, yeah I’ve travelled through as many of the threads I can find online.

And it’s a shell at the minute mate, I’ll post some soon, doing the bay and underbody this week hopefully.

Thanks for the welcome mate, I was driving a 330ci but always loved the shape of bmw wagons.

Naturally when I bought the e30 I wanted to make it do nice skids winkeye and annoy the neighbours in the morning.

So that’s how I ended up here, winging it.
