Hi, just acquired a nice silver M325i. I understand this was the local “poor man’s” variant to fill for M3 as they were not shipped officially (no right hand drive) here in NZ at the time. From new had MTecnic kit, and BBS wheels on a 2 door with blue cloth upholstery. Scorpion exhaust. Otherwise original. Hoping to continue to keep this in a mint condition by tapping into this excellent resource!

That looks very tidy, especially the interior. What's the mileage?

It is really nice. 1989 car, 260,000km. By the way we adjusted the tie downs on trailer to pull against the flat sides of rims, not spokes! Had H&R springs and shocks but last owner had just returned to new original BMW Mtechnic setup (!) as he found it too low. Probably as a reason the lower front Mtech valance has popped out of clips and I am a little unsure how to repair - have read Mrlee’s install post but not sure how to proceed if already installed? if you were able to direct me to correct section I will post there? Many thanks, Richard

I just noticed you're missing the badly made but essential top hose clip that holds the hose onto the lifting bracket ( notice the small hole in the bracket? )

Without this clip or a tie wrap... the top hose will eventually come into contact with the fan blades...not good.

Part number 11531714433

I caught mine just before the hose was worn away.

Paul :-)

Looks very nice. Might need a battery though.

Hi Paul, thanks for your diligent observation and knowledge. I’ll tie wrap it until I can get one from realoem. Cheers Richard

Very well observed, and 100% correct. Personally, I'd go with the tie wrap for reliability. The clip isn't a brilliant design, to say the least.
Feed the tie wrap (cable tie) through the hole from the back, around the hose, then back through the hole, so that the 'joint' is behind the bracket, and just plain smooth plastic around the hose.
