Hi, I was reading the info available at this website and found it to be really good. Looking forward to learning and contributing. I have a E28 B9 and I now have this E30 Alpina B6 2.8 - which happens to be the only one ever made in RHD.

Flybynite - thanks. It’s from 1984. Ahh you seen it at BMR? Small world. Yes I think Barry and the guys know most of what there is to know - and they sorted out my B9 too. Thanks so much for reaching out!

Thought from the door trim and the dash it was around '84, must have been one of the first Sytner cars. rare car in itself. let alone a B6.

My 323i is one of the early henna cars that inherited a load of Alpina bits around that time, best guess is parts came from one that was written off. Been trying to track down which one it was but records around that time are patchy at best.

Have to admit I do like the early cars, not many of them around, really nice example that.

Yes, the Alpina records from around that time are like gold dust it seems. Could I see a pic of your 323?

Mine was made as a test car which Frank Sytner himself drove for a while to evaluate it. Unlike all other RHD Alpina’s in the UK, it was actually put together by Alpina in Buchloe rather than at Sytners. In the end, Alpina didn’t make anymore in RHD due to costs in mods required and as the C2 was cheaper to make for them, they launched that for the UK.

The fact that it’s a 1 of 1 makes it probably the most unique Alpinas in the World and I’m really glad I got it. A lot of it was down to the knowledge and expertise from Barry at BMR Performance that I ended up getting it.

I took the covers off it last year where it is stored and took a pic. don't have it to hand but I did put it in this thread.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=278584&p=2959222#p2959222

This was how it ended up after 10 years and 100,000 miles in my care and replaced by one of the last E36 M3s bought new from Germany.

When it was bought by someone in my family mid eighties (and then came to me a couple of years later) it had a dogleg box, LSD, LS seats, Alpina alloys (including spare) front and rear Alpina spoilers, steering wheel, gear knob, and vent gauge. Bilstein Suspension with Alpina Camber plates.

The Alpina bits came off it a few years into my ownership for lots of different reasons, but most of it is sitting waiting to be re-furbished to go back on when I get time and space to attack it.

One day it will get its own rebuild thread instead of taking over someone else's :o:
