Hi all,

Hope everyones doing ok during these crazy times.

I've had my '87 E30 320i since i was 18, first car i bought. It's a base model white 4 door auto but to this day most fun car I own. Could never bring myself to selling and it's sadly been sitting for a while as I put the money into bikes but i finally have the time and money to get it going again so here we are. Trying to source a few bits and also see what else people have been doing to theirs.

Welcome, as above a good number plate. Now if your 19yrs old you haven't had it long but on the other hand if your 50 ish you've had it a while. That was a very sensible and classy car for your first car at 18. Any more pictures available?

Thanks! I'm now 26 so not that long i guess haha. yes great number plate, caught my eye the first time i saw it.

Plans for the car are ever changing. At the moment getting it running is the priority. Engine needs a clean and a few spots of rust on the doors, nothing too serious. Will be servicing it and getting it MOT worthy again.
After that a new set of white side mirrors. New set of BMW wheels, yet to decide which ones but nothing flashy. Trying to keep it as original as possible, lower a bit but keeping the ride quality. Interior is in pretty good condition, front seats need some looking at. Mechanisms are not working that well and bolsters are a bit worn and the central locking is not working, drivers side lock is very stiff.

Just getting the process started and i'm sure there will be a few un-expected surprises!

If you want to keep it original, you need black door mirrors by the look of the first couple of pics.you could bring yours back to life with the right cleaning gear.

Hope your correct about the "few spots of rust". After you have got it through the MOT a few weekends of cleaning/refurb graft would transform this car cosmetically. A DA polisher will bring the paint back to life and a good deep clean in the interior will make all the difference. New mirrors not essential - maybe rattle can satin black or white if you want that look?

Wheels - 14" or 15" BMW BBS look the part - again a rattle can refurb and new centre badges can work well on these wheels with a bit of patience.

Good luck with the project - it would be good to see pictures as you progress.
