May 2008 Car of the Month - Anything goes

Posted: Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:05 pm
by Mr_Clarksun
Well gentlemen, and any ladies who haven't been driven off the forum by the more â€Ëaenthusiastically gregarious' amongst the membership.

What to set this month's category to?

A dilemma upon the horns of which I have been riding this whole last week. If I'm honest, and I relish the opportunity of finding out what it feels like to be, I have no idea. So.

I'm going to WELCH on making the decision, shrug off the onus, avoid the ISSUE.

This month we'll celebrate the collective PRIDE in E30 ownership. If you feel your car is a worthy car - and that's any engine / configuration / spec —a then it is. Concourse garage queen, daily hack, immaculately fettled hybrid. All E30 life is here.

My 318iS hasnt had quite as much stuff done to it as some peoples on here, but i love it either way and am swaying to keeping it standard. still needs a few things doing but so far since i've had it i've fitted:

Front foglights
K & N panel filter
Genuine mirror blanking plate tweeters
And obviously all my audio (sub, amp, rear coaxial speakers, front component speakers, pioneer headunit + pioneer 12 disc cd changer)
(and hopefully a toad alarm by this time next week!)

I can't help but feel that there's some kind of hidden message in Mr Clarksun's post... either that or he's having some random trouble with his caps lock key :?

Here's mine, some of you guys will know it, other might not, so here's a quick run down

Salvaged from some bloke in wales (if he reads this I'm dead) waaaaaaay back in Jan 2005

It's my daily drive, gets driven the length and bredth of the country, in less than two weeks it shall cover 1000 of the finest miles the Scotish countryside has to offer over 4 days.

It satys outside exposed to all of the elements 24/7 365 days of the year, except for the multi story carpark when i go shopping or when its in for its MOT, other than that, it never sees the inside of a garage.

It's taken me to work and back everyday since the day i bought it and has never really let me down.

I have tidied up one or two things as they have shown through like the rear arches and one or two bits from under the bodykit, although none of it was really visable with the kit on, i knew it was there so got it all sorted.

I had the wheels refurbed and found some recaro seats and had new heating elements in them when i got them recoeverd.

Other than that, it gets driven, cleaned occasionally when the rain doesn't beat me to it....

so here it is....

Image

Image

Image

...the new interior with heated recaros and an M3 rear bench...

Image

Image

...when it took a visit to the local dealer for the E92 Coupe Launch, I kindly let them borrow it for the weekend....how kind :D

and to think i'll have to drive it to work again in the morning....ah c'est la vie...

What wheels are those DRIFTBOY? They look like a standard BBS but the lip seems deeper and shinier.

I'm liking all of these cars.

Funny you should mention the wheels!

They are 15" wheels made by BBS with, as you say, a polished rim of about 1 1/4". I've read on here that they are quite rare.

I actually sold them on sunday, to the bloke I bought them off about a year ago.
I haven't got any decent pics of the car with it's council spec TSW 17" wheels on yet, but I don't think it looks as good now, but I want to fit massive brakes so had to use them. :(

And I must agree with the comment about Dave's (d6dph) car at the start of this thread, no way is that a turd, it looks great! 8)
