Abandoned Places




It's competition time again and this month we would like you to show off those photographic skills


The brief:

This month were looking for derelict building, abandon places and just generally empty, run down spaces!
As usual, the best picture will win!

The rules:

It must be your own art work and not plagiarised from the net.

You must have taken the photo yourself, so a picture of you driving your car will not be entered when the voting thread is created, unless the rules state differently
There will be plenty of time to get your art work complete and voting will take place via a poll once everyone has submitted their designs.

No asking on other forums for people to vote either!


Entries close on the 23rd
Voting will start on either the 23rd or the 24th

Votes close on the 30th/31st of each month and the winner will be annouced after that

Prize

Prizes WILL be with us soon, Verde is working on getting some sponsors back involved, we'll advertise them on here as the sponsor in return for small prizes to the winner each month.

Yup, and I already have one location I could use in mind...will scout/search for more.

Wish I had an E30 on the road for this one!

Sames could have went to the Maze Prison or H&W Dockyards.

I'll go and park mine in our town centre, there's plenty of abandoned places there!

Great pic, but Photoshop surely?

HDR type processing on that only by the looks of it, so no different really to some of the other entries from previous comps.

Hopefully my car will work this weekend and I'll get out for some shots as I have a few ideas, just a matter of getting the locations right really.

Will a pic of my E30 'abandoned' in bits on the drive do? haha

Most DSLRs have an HDR mode now so thats completely allowed. I dont like it...but i have to allow it

An old one but my E30 won't be leaving the driveway for a while most likely!

Personally I think HDR looks rubbish, but that is just my opinion.
Oh and you allowed my colour processed pic in the last comp, so HDR should be allowed anyway too.

HDR is good when done well, but you should be struggling to tell its done at all IMO. If everything has halo's around it and looks like the only thing its missing is a pink Unicorn pasting in then its overdone

The above is fine by my eye, maybe a touch strong, but it works there.

This is the issue I'm having (plus needing to do various work on the car), having googled around there doesn't appear to be much in the way of the sort of location I want.
Might go to one location an evening during the week although I'm not sure if I can take pics safely where I've spotted.

Sorry for the repost as I used this in last month's COTM entry but if it's allowed I think this matches the theme quite nicely;

Took this yesterday but I'm not sure if this counts as abandoned but this plane hasn't moved since 2009....
