I'll be feeding the "Did You Know" data from the Wiki, but if there's something I've overlooked or you've discovered yourself, then let me know.
On top of that, I suggest someone volunteers to keep an eye on the Photo Gallery and nominate a Week's Best Picture. Be it a pic from a build thread, a Rustiest Turd shot or a pro photo shoot, more pics are always a good thing.

Good thinking dude

Anyone spotting anything that they think is worthy of the home page, let us know!
We will be doing mini write ups on members projects/cars soon so I may well be contacting people shortly, as will Verde be doing a mini write up on the COTM winners that will be included on the homepage.
We will hopefully extend the homepage to a sub section forum too with longer articles for reading, nothing spectacular, but something to read

Could we have other (classic) car insurance company's other than sky insurance just to give the members more choice, better value for money.

Doubt it Tony, as Sky are a Paying Subscriber (I think), and no other company is.

More insurers would probably be interested in doing the same as what Sky are doing, but thats not my side of things. Wouldn't be hard to sell a subscription to them though! But the zone isnt a business either, so profit makes it hard work in the long run

Register it as a business, sell advertising & merchandise the crap out of it.
Why not!!

Can't you just charge a nominal fee, one that just covers cost of servers and site maintenence etc. I'm sure the likes of Footman James and Lancaster would be interested as there are quite a few Zoners insured with them. Or if you can't charge them, they may offer Zoners discounts in exchange for advertising

The thing is when new people come on the zone they must think that sky is recommend by us, that most of us use them which is not the case, it would be great to have a choice of 2 or 3 other insurance company's that all I'm saying.

Any meets that are happening, I can add to the homepage. Just need people to give me a heads up if they are having a local one or know of a show as I don't read all the threads that appear

Maybe a calender like the one on pistonheads on the front page
www.pistonheads.com/calendar
Makes it easier for people to view and plan upcoming events, the meet section is full of muddled up shows in no specific order and half of them don't state the date in the subject title.

How about doing a 'meet the driver' section on the homepage,
Would be nice to put faces to cars we see often on here and any info eg how long you have been driving e30's, favourite drivers car, dream car, tips for e30 ownership.
Would be nice for others who do not frequent meets and shows to put a face to the car so its not so intimidating meeting people for the first time.
Feel free to say its shite if you think so haha

That's fairly similar to the COTM competition they run on the Mk1 Golf Forum, winner appears on the homepage with a bit of spiel about themselves and the car -

I will at some point find a plastic garden gnome which can be painted up in black and orange in theme of the zone which I thought would be better for pictures and people can take it all round the world on holidays or anywhere interesting they are going and get plenty of pictures, then it gets sent to the next guy...
Would only go to regularish members though as I know how quickly people disappear from here

You should make a few and sell them as Zone mascots

Walking around with a gnome ... fantastic! I can see a few members getting sanctioned under mental health act.
A bmw badge would be easier to post.

Hardly difficult to post a gnome
A BMW badge is a bit boring though... A gnome in your suitcase is a better story to tell as to why you have it in your luggage.

If anyone has anything they thing would be suitable for this task, please pipe up and be known! The idea is to send the item to people who are going to different places on holiday, or work in interesting places etc.
Upload your picture with the item and send it to the next guy who is off somewhere. The item will travel round the world and have some great pictures with some weird zoners!

Jim,
just spotted this on the homepage......
Anyone interested in doing the above will be mentioned on each competition so its a nice way of advertising what you and what you sell to others!
Doesn't quite read right
