looking at getting a safety devices cage as i just sold my sparco multipoint as the fit wasnt the best and i didnt like the fact it didn't have harness bars and had single bolt mountings on the door bars.

does anyone know if safety devices make a 10 point cage that goes down the back of the dash? ive been told to get a B8 model but safety devices only list a B7 and a B9 has anyone got a pic of a B8. also any other info such as prices and best place to but it from. fitting tips etc would be greatly apreciated.

cheers

mike

I'm not sure about safety devices but i have had good multipoint cages from Custom cages and OMP, even though the latter needed small adjustments involving a block of wood and the weight of a car to get it to fit tightly!!!

in what way did it need adjustment? was it an e30 cage or on another car? the reason i picked safety devices is from what i have seen in the past there good quality and fit the car well wich is important to me as i cba faffing around tweeking stuff.

Hi Mike, I've only fitted one SD cage, sorry no idea on the model. It came down the front of the dash (no dash cutting) I think the same as all SD models. TBH the fit was no different to Sparco in terms of bits needing a bit of leverage and persuasion to get them exactly where I wanted them, and the door bars are bolted in. They have a couple of small half hoops, one on the frame the other on the door bars, the half hoops bolt together. Biggest advantage over Sparco was if you want to use harness bars. If you PM Zaust or Cabrio on here they can probably give more info. If you can hold out for a week and get to Brands on Saturday you can have a look at pretty much every roll cage that there is available for the E30 + a few welded in one-offs, fitted in the PBMW Cup cars.

Cheers
