Ok after looking at the seats 2day its not looking so simple.
On my last e30 i fitted buckets to i had the propper subframes so was simple but i got them cheap.
This time money is tight so its gonna be a diy job.
The runners are well off and also way to low but i can get around this with some box section and a welder
But the problems start with there being no seat belt mounting points on the seat or the runners.
So do i
1. weld a bit of angle iron with a hole to the box section so i can mount the seat belt?
But is this 100% safe
Or
2. Drill holes with metal plates and mount to the tunnel and floor?
Or am i missing some thing very simple

The bolt through the floor method is probably the safest you can get quickly. But drilling through the floor is never nice. I have made some bolt to the E30 floor side mounts for bucket seat with some adjustment holes but this requires to remove the bolts/nuts to move the seat. Not a big issue ofr occasional driver changes.
When you build your seat console you can try to bolt some brackets for the seatbelts through the same hole that the seat used to mount.
Somehow "sandwich" the bracket between floor and seat console.
does this make some sense ??
these are the mounts I make. Bolt right to the floor pattern of the E30

I am having a hard time to get some made, but I am working on it....
Shouldn't be longer than 2-3 weeks from now.

I let them go with the car
Im just gonna weld them to some box tubing then weld that to the floor this way i can still slide them back n forth and i will not be so low to the floor
Just ordered my 3 point harnesses and gonna drill holes and hope for the best.
Not happy about it all tho but ive spent loads on it in the last week or so n the misses is not looking happy so cant buy the propper mounts

pass drift works sell these
http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/produ ... plate.html
Dont see them needing welding else they would not have the small hole to tack to so it dont spin
