hi i run an engineering company called carrera custom design house. we specialise in designing alloy styling and performance products for fast road, track and race cars.
ive been a member on here for several years and have played around with e30s for a few years now. and have noticed the amount of people with track and race bmw's.
if any of you race and track people need custom parts made for your cars then i would be happy to help as i know how hard it is to find parts.
we have just finished producing alloy washer and header tanks and also an oil catch seperator tank. we will soon be looking into producing alloy rads, and maybe adjustable front arms as well.
check out zone trading for more info.

Sorry if this sounds a bit daft but with all the overheating/coolant loss problems that E30,s seem to suffer from,
would a solid header tank be a bad idea.Dont get me wrong, i think they look great and would enhance any engine bay but i for one like to have an easy visual guide as to coolant level.

Doh!!!!

Thanks Jhonno. Will shortly be putting an 89 535i engine into a 86 pre facelift cab, do you know if any of these header tanks would be suitable ,or do i need to go a different route. Sorry that question was aimed at alloy products.

What size are the alloy catch tanks? Blue book states a 3 litre tank for over two litre engines. Do you do one that big or would it be a one off? PM me with a price if you like.

That sounds like the puppy, would be very interested. Might also be worth seeing if the drop links could be made adjustable as well.

hi shorty73 the oil catch tanks i do are 1.5litre. my friend tested one on his 325turbo and it was fine. i could design a 3litre one if you were after that size.
the drop links would be rosejointed started working on them now.

I have no doubts that they work ok it's just the MSA blue book states
"for engine capacities in excess of two litres the catch tank capacity should be 3 litres"
As I've got a poxy novice cross on the back I'm trying to play by the book as best as possible.
Does say you can run two in parallel so two 1.5 litres would be ok. They will fit in the space were the washer bottle used to be.
Let me know what price you want for them.
