e36 into e30

hi am posting this on behalf of a friend. he is putting a 325 24v e36 engine into his e30 face lift esate and would like some info on which mounts to use. everytime he finds out info its always different. which sump does he need and which engine mounts does he need to run. is there any info on this site about this conversion?

can use 34 oil sump and e28 M5 mounts....

If you look in the archives of our engine swap forum, you will find the longest thread ever written on just this subject.
You find different answers, because there's more than one way of doing things! The only thing that is definite is that you must use a M50 E34 sump and oil pick up.
Before of info on sites aimed at LH drive cars. The problems (and possible solutions) are very different.

thanks for the info. will have a read of it. that could be were he is going wrong as he seems to read alot of info from the us sites.
sorry i forgot they were/are called tourers
